Formale Zugangsvoraussetzungen zum Studiengang sind in der Zulassungsordnung für den Masterstudiengang ISSM der Hochschule Bremerhaven geregelt. Gefordert wird der Nachweis eines Diplom- oder Bachelorabschlusses mit mindestens der Gesamtnote „befriedigend“. Dieser Abschluss kann nachgewiesen werden
b) in einem anderen Studiengang mit einschlägigen für den Masterstudiengang relevanten Fachgebieten und einem mindestens mit der Gesamtnote „gut“ bewerteten Abschluss sowie einem Umfang der Studien- und Prüfungsleistungen von mindestens 180 Leistungspunkten.
Die Studienplätze werden nach Bildung einer Rangfolge der Noten des ersten berufsqualifizierenden Abschlusses vergeben.
