Overview
Since winter semester 2011/12 Ostfalia students have benefited from the income-independent Deutschlandstipendium. Holders receive EUR 300 monthly, half from federal funds and half from regional sponsors such as Continental AG, Bertrandt AG and local foundations. Funding lasts a maximum of two semesters, is not counted against BAfoeG, and previous holders may reapply. Selection rewards good grades plus volunteering, awards, completed vocational training in the field of study, and social, family or personal hurdles such as illness or flight. Students who already receive merit-based funding averaging EUR 30 or more per month are excluded.
