Overview
Merit scholarship honouring outstanding academic performance combined with volunteer engagement. Funded half by private sponsors and half federally; income- and parent-independent and not offset against BAfoeG. Since its start, more than 470 high-performing students have been supported at OVGU. Applications are submitted exclusively online through the stipendium.ovgu.de portal during the annual window; new awards begin on 1 October. The complete application may be submitted in English.

Eligibility Requirements
Enrolled OVGU students (or applicants still awaiting admission, who apply as 'Studieninteressierte') with a grade average better than 2.5 (foreign grades converted to the German system, e.g. via uni-assist), demonstrable social/political/university engagement, and at least two semesters remaining before the end of the standard study period
