Overview
Fresenius University of Applied Sciences awards Deutschlandstipendien to encourage talented young people to take up and successfully complete their studies. Scholars receive EUR 300 monthly, funded half by private sponsors and half by the federal government; the scholarship is income-independent, not counted towards BAfoeG and can be continued by reapplication in each following call until the end of the standard period of study. Awards are made once a year for the winter semester for 12 months (1 September - 31 August); exceptionally, if studies end on 28 February, funding runs only six months. Eligible applicants are enrolled students or applicants who have already signed their study contract. Selection requires above-average performance demonstrated by a final school grade of 2.0 or better or a study average of 2.0 or better.
