Overview
Together with committed sponsors, the University of Cologne supports students with above-average performance through its Deutschlandstipendium. Particularly qualified first-year students, students in higher semesters and master students receive EUR 300 per month for at least two semesters. Selection considers very good school/university performance, particular successes (competitions, sports), voluntary work and personal or family circumstances such as migration background, illness or caring responsibilities. Foreign students enrolled at the University of Cologne may apply; doctoral candidates, guest students, exchange students and Studienkolleg participants are excluded. In winter semester 2025/26, 232 Germany Scholarships were awarded.
