Overview
The NRWege scholarship programme supports international students with a refugee background and prospects of remaining in Germany so they can complete their studies successfully. Three lines exist: the HHU study-entry scholarship (1st-2nd higher education semester), the HHU performance scholarship (from the 3rd semester, above-average academic record) and the HHU annual scholarship (from the 3rd semester, for students without BAfoeG entitlement whose livelihood is not secured, paying up to EUR 1,000 monthly depending on personal financial circumstances). Entry and performance scholarships top up existing income including BAfoeG by up to EUR 300 monthly and can be converted into an annual scholarship under certain conditions.

Eligibility Requirements
- Enrolled international HHU students with refugee background
- performance line requires above-average study achievements from the 3rd semester
- annual scholarship requires no BAfoeG entitlement and insufficiently secured livelihood
- payment requires a German/European bank account (IBAN/BIC). Awards subject to MKW funds being available.
