About Akademie für Musik Berlin
Akademie für Musik Berlin (AfM Berlin) is a private music academy located in the Kreuzberg district of Berlin. It operates as a study placement partner for Kalaidos University of Applied Sciences (Switzerland), through which enrolled students can obtain Swiss-accredited Bachelor's and Master's degrees in applied music. The academy does not hold independent German state recognition (Staatliche Anerkennung) as a Hochschule and does not award its own German degrees.
Instruction covers keyboard instruments, orchestral instruments, voice, and composition, delivered by Berlin-based faculty including members of major Berlin ensembles. In addition to formal degree preparation, the academy provides access to masterclasses, competitions, concerts, workshops, and international music festivals within Berlin's cultural ecosystem.
Bachelor's and Master's degree study placements in partnership with Kalaidos University of Switzerland ('fully accredited Swiss institution known for its excellence in applied music education').
Masterclass faculty includes distinguished soloists, chamber musicians and principal players from top orchestras such as the Berlin Philharmonic.

Admission requirements
The website documents masterclasses, cross-cultural workshops, international summer/winter camps and concert productions as its core activities; degree study placements run through the Kalaidos partnership. Application deadlines
No fixed semester deadlines are published; admission is by entrance audition, taken either in person at one of the academy's recruitment sessions or as a video recording (10 to 20 minutes of a public performance with audience) emailed to the secretariat. Applicants needing German language support sign an additional paid contract for the academy's German intensive course. Bachelor study runs 6 semesters and Master study 4 semesters in cooperation with the state-recognised Kalaidos University of Applied Sciences (Switzerland); partial scholarships of EUR 6,500 to full scholarships of EUR 20,000 per year are offered.

Bachelor's and Master's study placements are offered 'in collaboration with Kalaidos University of Switzerland', a fully accredited Swiss institution; no separate international-admissions procedure is documented on the website.
Languages of instruction
Teaching is in German; applicants without sufficient German must additionally enrol in the academy's paid half-year German intensive course. Application and marketing materials are also produced in English and Chinese.
