About Allensbach Hochschule
Allensbach Hochschule (Allensbach University) is a state-recognised private university of applied sciences located in Konstanz, Baden-Württemberg. Founded in 1996 and supervised by the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts Baden-Württemberg, it is operated by European Education Group GmbH. The university specialises entirely in business administration and management disciplines, offering its programmes exclusively as distance learning (100% online), with no mandatory on-campus attendance.
The university offers twelve Bachelor of Arts specialisations in business (including Banking, Digital Business Management, Digital Marketing Management, Fashion Management, HR Management, and Business Psychology), alongside Master's programmes in Business Management (M.A.), Finance (M.Sc.), Business Education (M.A.), and several MBA variants in both German and English. All programmes are accredited by the German Accreditation Council (Akkreditierungsrat) and approved by Germany's Federal Centre for Distance Education (ZFU).
Because all instruction is delivered online and asynchronously, Allensbach primarily serves working professionals seeking to study alongside employment. The institution has over 1,000 graduates since founding and has been recognised as a top training provider by Focus Business (2022–2025). It does not operate a traditional campus with face-to-face classes.

Admissions & costs
Tuition & fees
Allensbach is a private distance-learning university and charges programme fees. There is no tuition-free public-university status. The Baden-Württemberg non-EU surcharge (€1,500/semester) does not apply here because Allensbach is a private institution with its own fee schedule. Indicative fees: Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) Business Administration — €375/month over 36 months standard duration (total ~€13,500). MBA General Management — €8,280 (12-month/60 ECTS), €10,620 (18-month/90 ECTS), or €14,160 (24-month/120 ECTS). Master of Arts / Master of Science programmes are priced comparably to the MBA range. Fees include all digital study materials, online examinations, seminars, and personal academic support. No separate semester contribution (Semesterbeitrag) is listed.
Admission requirements
Bachelor's admission requires a German Abitur, Fachhochschulreife, or equivalent foreign upper-secondary qualification. An alternative pathway is available for applicants with at least two years of vocational training in a relevant field plus three years of professional experience and a passed aptitude examination (Eignungsprüfung). Master's and MBA programmes require a first university degree of at least 6 semesters / 180 ECTS; MBA programmes additionally require at least one year of professional experience (three years for the executive variant). English proficiency at B2 level is required for Master/MBA admission (certificate or short online assessment). Indian, Chinese, and Vietnamese applicants whose prior qualification was obtained in those countries must hold an APS certificate before applying for a German student visa — Allensbach itself does not mention APS on its website, but the requirement is imposed by the German consulate as a visa precondition. Students can start at any time; no fixed application deadlines are stated. International students outside the EU incur a €10/month surcharge for physical study-material shipping; online exam sittings are offered in alternative time slots to accommodate different time zones.
Application deadlines
No fixed intake deadlines; the university states students may begin studies at any time throughout the year.
Languages of instruction
Primarily German. One MBA programme is taught in English (MBA General Management in English).

Living in Baden-Württemberg
Konstanz (Constance) is a mid-sized city of roughly 85,000 residents on the shore of Lake Constance (Bodensee) at the German–Swiss border in Baden-Württemberg. It is a lively student city anchored by the University of Konstanz and HTWG Konstanz (University of Applied Sciences), giving it an active international community. The lake and proximity to the Alps and Black Forest make it popular for outdoor recreation; living costs are moderate at approximately €850–€1,000/month. Cross-border access to Switzerland adds a distinctive character to daily life.
Student life & support
Because Allensbach Hochschule operates as a fully online institution, traditional on-campus student life (clubs, sports teams, canteen, student union events) does not apply in the conventional sense. Students interact primarily through the university's online learning platform, virtual seminars, and digital support channels. The administrative office in Konstanz is accessible for individual consultations. Students based in Konstanz can participate in the broader city student community via HTWG Konstanz or University of Konstanz student networks, but Allensbach itself does not organise campus social activities.
