About Charlotte Fresenius Hochschule
Charlotte Fresenius Hochschule is a private, state-recognised university in Germany, founded in 2021 and headquartered in Wiesbaden, Hessen. It is the first German university named after a woman and focuses exclusively on psychology, psychotherapy, and closely related health sciences. The institution holds state recognition for its degree programmes and passed the German Science Council's conceptual review process.
The university operates across six German campuses — Wiesbaden, Munich, Hamburg, Cologne, Düsseldorf, and Heidelberg — and forms part of the broader Fresenius educational network, which traces its roots to Carl Remigius Fresenius's chemical laboratory established in 1848. Programmes are offered in full-time, part-time, and distance-learning formats, with an emphasis on small group teaching, embedded internships, and on-campus psychotherapy clinics at Wiesbaden and Munich.
Admission to the Bachelor of Science in Psychology is NC-free; selection is based on personal motivation and goals rather than school grades. Master's programmes include Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy, Digital Medicine and AI, Pharmaceutical Medicine, and Forensic Psychology.

Living in Hessen
Wiesbaden is the state capital of Hessen, located in the Rhine-Main metropolitan region adjacent to Frankfurt. It is a prosperous mid-sized city known for its historic spa architecture, thermal baths, and a lively city centre with cafés and cultural venues. The nearby Rheingau wine region and Taunus hills offer outdoor recreation. The Rhine-Main area is one of Germany's strongest economic zones, providing substantial internship and employment opportunities in business, finance, healthcare, and technology.
Student life & support
The university emphasises a community-oriented campus experience with small group sizes and close student-faculty interaction. Shared campus facilities at several locations include dining areas and collaborative study spaces. Three mandatory internship placements are embedded in the bachelor's curriculum (research-oriented 180 h, orientation 150 h, professional competency 240 h). Erasmus study-abroad exchanges are available, though credit recognition can be complex given programme-specific legal requirements in psychology. On-campus psychotherapy outpatient clinics at Wiesbaden and Munich give students real clinical exposure during their studies.
