Student accommodation

What Georg-August-Universität Göttingen publishes about housing. German universities do not allocate rooms themselves, so the links below are where applications actually go.

Rooms are allocated by

Studierendenwerk Göttingen

Not by the university. Apply to them directly, and expect a waiting list.

Deadlines and application forms are published here, and they change every intake.

The International Office (located at Von-Siebold-Straße 2, 37075 Göttingen) coordinates support for incoming international students, including a buddy/pick-up service, welcome activities, housing assistance, visa and registration guidance, and health insurance orientation. The Studierendenwerk Göttingen manages approximately 4,500 student housing spaces across halls of residence and shared apartments; the Mahatma-Gandhi-House offers accommodation specifically for international students. Early application for housing is strongly recommended as demand peaks in April and October.
