The application portal for Winter Semester 2026/27 is open from 20 May to 30 September 2026. International applicants should contact the International Office for guidance on recognition of foreign qualifications and language requirements. German language proficiency is required; the university provides free preparatory German intensive courses. Indian, Chinese, and Vietnamese applicants whose prior qualification was obtained in those countries must hold an APS certificate before applying for a German student visa, though the university's own pages do not spell out this requirement explicitly.

Application deadlines

Winter Semester (October start): application portal open 20 May – 30 September. Summer Semester deadlines are not published on the official admissions page. All programmes are admission-free (no NC), so early application is recommended to secure housing and system access rather than for competitive reasons.

Instruction is primarily in German. The university offers a Language Centre with courses in 12 languages. No fully English-taught bachelor's or master's programmes are listed on the official programme pages.
