Exempt from sitting the DSH if you hold one of: Deutsches Sprachdiplom der KMK Stufe II (DSD II); TestDaF with at least level 4 in every section; the German-language exam taken under a Studienkolleg; 'telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule'; Goethe-Zertifikat Grosses Deutsches Sprachdiplom (GDS) or Austrian Sprachdiplom C2 (OeSD C2); DSH-II from the Munich SDI (Sprachen- und Dolmetscher-Institut); or another German-language certificate recognised by the KMK/HRK for university admission. Also exempt if German is your native language and you demonstrably master it in speech and writing. PH Heidelberg does not itself offer beginner German courses.

Voraussetzung für den Zugang ist eine Erste Staatsprüfung für ein Lehramt oder ein auf ein Lehramt bezogener Masterabschluss oder eine Zweite Staatsprüfung für ein Lehramt. Liegt der Abschluss des Masterstudiums zum Zeitpunkt der Bewerbung noch nicht vor, kann bei einem Nachweis von in der Regel mindestens 90 ECTS aus einem lehramtsbezogenen Masterstudium dennoch die Zulassung beantragt werden. Gleiches gilt, wenn die Staatsprüfung eines Lehramtsstudiums noch nicht vorliegt, bei einem Nachweis von mindestens 210 Leistungspunkten.
