Most programmes are taught in German and generally require C1-level German proven by one of: DSH-2 (selected programmes require DSH-3); TestDaF level 4 in all four parts (selected programmes require TDN 5); DSD II; German part of the Feststellungspruefung at a Studienkolleg; Goethe-Zertifikat C2 'Grosses Deutsches Sprachdiplom' (from 01.01.2012); ZOP/KDS/GDS of the Goethe-Institut until 31.12.2011; telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule. Applicants who show a C1 certificate when applying are invited to the OVGU DSH exam (held March for summer semester and September for winter semester; fee EUR 80). OVGU itself offers no preparatory German courses.
