Overview
National scholarship programme for students at Saarland University. Open to enrolled bachelor and master students as well as applicants who have applied for a study place (payment only after admission and enrolment); doctoral candidates excluded. Selection weighs school/university performance, outstanding extracurricular or social engagement, and special personal or family circumstances such as a non-academic family background ('Studienpioniere') or a migration/refugee background. Letters of recommendation from professors are not required and cannot be considered. Income-independent grant, not offset against BAfoeG; continues during subject-related stays abroad including ERASMUS. International students may apply (application in English or German, grades converted to the German scale if necessary).
