Overview
With the Deutschlandstipendium the University of Freiburg supports students whose path promises outstanding achievements in study and profession with EUR 300 monthly for one year. Half of the sum is raised by the university from private sponsors, the other half comes from the federal government. Selection considers not only school and university performance but also social engagement, professional background and overcoming biographical obstacles; a central selection commission decides on a ranked list. Scholars additionally gain access to the Deutschlandstipendium network of fellow students and sponsors, who may become employers or mentors.

Eligibility Requirements
Students in undergraduate and master programmes who are enrolled, or will be enrolled, at the University of Freiburg at the start of the funding period. Exclusions: extension subject only in Master of Education, exchange students, students not aiming for a Freiburg degree, doctoral candidates (except Medicine/Dentistry parallel to studies).
