Admissions & fees

What it costs

A mandatory semester contribution (Semesterbeitrag) is payable each semester to htw saar. The exact amount is not published on the official site; contact the student secretariat for the current figure. Late re-registration incurs a €15 penalty fee. No separate tuition fee for the dual-study bachelor programmes is indicated on the official site.

Admission requirements

All programmes follow the dual study model: applicants must secure a training contract with a cooperating company before enrolling at ASW. Academic entry requirement is the German Allgemeine Hochschulreife or Fachhochschulreife (or equivalent recognised qualification). International applicants with non-German qualifications (except Luxembourg) must have their credentials assessed via htw saar; recognition is handled on a case-by-case basis. German language proficiency at C1 is required. APS certificate: required for Indian, Chinese, and Vietnamese applicants per standard German university admission rules. Enrolment is processed through the SIM portal of htw saar.

Application deadlines

Winter semester intake begins in September (semester contribution due by 1 September). No specific application deadline is published on the official site; deadlines are coordinated through the cooperating company and the student secretariat.

How international applicants apply

Dual model - apply via partner company: step one is applying to a cooperating company for a dual study place; higher-education entrance requirements follow the Saarlaendisches Hochschulgesetz (Abitur, Fachhochschulreife, Meisterpruefung or vocational qualification plus probationary study). No uni-assist or VPD procedure is mentioned on the official application page; final enrolment is processed through htw saar.

Languages of instruction

German only. International applicants are expected to hold German language proficiency at C1 level.

Entry requirements, intake dates and language levels differ for every degree.
