About BSP Business and Law School
BSP Business and Law School (Hochschule für Management und Recht) is a private, state-recognised University of Applied Sciences in Berlin, established in early 2010 in Potsdam and relocated to Berlin in 2012. It operates under the motto "Business Class studieren" and organises its programmes across three faculties: Business and Management, Creative Business, and Law. The Law faculty holds university-level (Universität) status for the state-examination programme in Rechtswissenschaft.
The school occupies the landmark-protected Siemens Villa in Berlin-Lankwitz and maintains a second campus in Hamburg's HafenCity district. Admission places emphasis on motivation and aptitude rather than grade thresholds; individual admission interviews are required. All programmes are institutionally accredited by the Wissenschaftsrat (most recently in 2022 for a five-year period) and programme-accredited through AHPGS.
As of WS 2024/25 the school enrolled approximately 1,146 students, of whom roughly 5.6 % hold a foreign passport. The school has over 55 international partner universities and participates in the Erasmus+ programme.

Admissions & costs
Tuition & fees
BSP is a private institution and charges tuition fees. The Business Administration (BWL) bachelor's programme is priced at €650 per month (approx. €3,900 per semester for a full-time student). Total programme cost over six semesters is approximately €23,400. There is no tuition-free public-university model here; fees apply to all enrolled students. A 10% sibling discount is available. Exchange students under Erasmus+ or BSP partnership agreements pay no tuition at BSP during their exchange semester.
Admission requirements
Applicants need a German Abitur or equivalent higher-education entrance qualification (HZB). Admission does not use a fixed numerus clausus; an individual interview assesses motivation, entrepreneurial thinking, and social competence. German-taught programmes require documented German at C1 level (CEFR). For exchange/incoming international students, B2 German is the minimum for German-taught courses; around 30 ECTS of English-taught modules are available without German proficiency. APS certificate is required for Indian, Chinese, and Vietnamese nationals applying for a German student visa but is not separately listed as an institutional admission gate on the BSP website. Application deadlines for exchange students: 1 June (winter semester) and 1 December (summer semester).
Application deadlines
Bachelor/master direct applicants: programmes start 1 October (winter) and 1 April (summer); specific rolling or fixed deadlines are programme-dependent — check individual programme pages or contact admissions. Exchange/incoming students: 1 June for winter semester, 1 December for summer semester.
Languages of instruction
Primarily German. Approximately 30+ ECTS worth of English-taught courses available per semester; International Business Administration bachelor's programme is bilingual (German/English). German C1 required for German-taught programmes.

Living in Berlin
Berlin is Germany's capital and largest city, with approximately 3.8 million residents. It is a major hub for technology start-ups, creative industries, media, and fashion — all directly relevant to BSP's programme portfolio. The city has a large international student population, relatively affordable living costs compared to Munich or Hamburg, and an extensive public-transport network. Berlin's vibrant cultural scene and English-friendly environment make it particularly accessible for international students.
Student life & support
The BSP's small class sizes and familiar atmosphere are a stated feature; the school runs a Buddy Programme pairing incoming international students with German peers. A Career Center provides internship placement support; entrepreneurship mentoring is available. The Hamburg campus offers a second community. The Erasmus+ network and over 55 partner universities provide semester-abroad opportunities across Europe, the Americas, Asia, and Oceania.
