Admissions & fees

What it costs

No tuition fees - trainees and students are civil-servant candidates (Beamtenanwärter) employed by the state of Saxony-Anhalt and receive a salary (Anwärterbezüge) during their training and studies. Standard university semester contributions do not apply.

Admission requirements

Admission is not open to the general public or to international students in the conventional sense. Candidates must apply directly to the Saxony-Anhalt state police via the official recruitment process (Eignungsauswahlverfahren - EAV), which includes a police medical examination and athletic fitness assessment. Selection is by the state employer, not a standard university admissions office. German citizenship or an equivalent status permitting police employment in Germany is a prerequisite. APS certificate (required for Indian, Chinese, and Vietnamese applicants in standard German university admissions) is not applicable here, as this institution does not participate in general international higher education admissions.

Application deadlines

There are no classic semester application deadlines: admission requires being recruited into the police force of Saxony-Anhalt, so applications are submitted via the police online application portal for announced intake years rather than fixed university dates. Applicants must pass the Eignungsauswahlverfahren (aptitude selection), meet citizenship requirements (German under Art. 116 GG, EU/EWR nationals, or a German permanent residence permit) and age limits (under 37 at hiring for the bachelor track), and be police-service fit; documents for each intake year (e.g. 2027) are published on the FH website in advance.

How international applicants apply

Restricted police recruitment entry - neither uni-assist nor any open international admission route exists. Intake is exclusively via recruitment into the Saxony-Anhalt state police: applications go through the police online application portal for announced intake years, candidates must pass the Eignungsauswahlverfahren (aptitude selection) and satisfy police-service eligibility (German citizenship under Art. 116 GG, EU/EEA nationality, or a German permanent residence permit; age limit under 37 at hiring for the bachelor track). No uni-assist cooperation, no VPD; the FH is absent from uni-assist's official member list.

Languages of instruction

German (all programmes taught in German; no English-medium programmes offered)

Entry requirements, intake dates and language levels differ for every degree.
