Living in Sigmaringen

The university spans two small cities in the Swabian Alb region of Baden-Württemberg. Albstadt (population ~45,000) is an inland industrial town known for textiles and precision engineering. Sigmaringen (population ~17,000) is a historic town on the upper Danube, home to the famous Hohenzollern castle. Both locations offer affordable cost of living and a quieter environment compared to major German university cities, with Stuttgart accessible by train within 1-2 hours.

Student life & support

Campus life is supported by the Studierendenwerk (student services), which provides housing assistance, dining facilities (Mensen and cafeterias), BAföG counselling, and stipendium information. The university has organised campus sports (Hochschulsport), a student representative body (Verfasste Studierendenschaft), and mental health support (MHFA). A Career Center helps with internships and job placement. The International Office facilitates integration of international students.
