Admissions & fees

What it costs

Tuition-free for EU/EEA students at bachelor's and consecutive master's level. Non-EU international students in Baden-Württemberg pay €1,500 per semester in tuition fees (state-wide rule). All students pay a semester contribution (Semesterbeitrag) of approximately €182 per semester, comprising: student services €72, administrative costs €80, student association €20, plus a one-time student ID fee of €10.

Admission requirements

International applicants must have their foreign qualifications officially assessed. Exchange students require a nomination from their home university (partner nomination deadline: 1 May for winter semester, 1 November for summer semester). Degree-seeking non-EU students whose qualifications are not directly recognised must typically attend a Studienkolleg (foundation year). Indian, Chinese, and Vietnamese applicants require an APS certificate before applying. The university offers German language courses to support integration. For English-taught programmes, language proficiency in English is required; prospective students should confirm specific IELTS/TOEFL thresholds with the International Office.

Application deadlines

Winter semester (October start): application deadline 15 July. Summer semester (April start): deadline approximately 15 January. Exchange student nominations from partner universities: 1 May (winter), 1 November (summer).

How international applicants apply

No uni-assist - Hochschule Biberach is not on the uni-assist member list. Its official application page instructs international applicants without a German Hochschulzugangsberechtigung to first obtain recognition of their certificates via the Studienkolleg Konstanz (HTWG Hochschule Konstanz, Center for International Students), processed digitally through Konstanz's application form, and then apply directly through HBC's own Online-Bewerbungsportal (uploading the recognition confirmation if still pending).

Languages of instruction

Primarily German-taught; selected courses and at least one full bachelor's programme (Civil Engineering and Construction Management B.Eng.) taught in English. German language courses at various levels offered to international students.

Entry requirements, intake dates and language levels differ for every degree.
