About Hochschule Biberach

Hochschule Biberach (HBC) is a university of applied sciences located in Biberach an der Riß, Baden-Württemberg. Founded in 1964 as a state engineering school for construction and formally established as a Fachhochschule in 1971, the institution celebrated 100 years of combined academic education (including its Academy, founded 1984) in 2024. It offers approximately 20 bachelor's and master's programmes with a strong applied-research focus.

The university's academic portfolio spans architecture, civil engineering and project management, business administration (with concentrations in construction, real estate, energy, and international management), pharmaceutical and industrial biotechnology, building and energy systems, and digitalisation and robotics. The campus is known for its compact, community-oriented atmosphere and close ties to regional industry leaders such as Liebherr and Boehringer Ingelheim.

HBC operates two interconnected campuses - Campus Stadt and Campus Aspach - connected by free e-scooters. Facilities include a library, cafeteria, computing centre, and specialised laboratories. The university has an active international programme with exchange partnerships including a binational master's degree with Universidad Nacional de Tucumán (Argentina) and a recent MOU with Northern Arizona University.
