Living in Koblenz

Koblenz is a historic city of approximately 115,000 inhabitants at the confluence of the Rhine and Moselle rivers in Rheinland-Pfalz. The Deutsches Eck (German Corner) monument and the Electoral Palace (Kurfürstliches Schloss) are landmark sites. The city is well connected by rail to Frankfurt (about 1 hour) and Cologne (about 50 minutes), making it accessible while remaining a compact, affordable student city. The surrounding region offers extensive cycling and hiking along the Rhine and Moselle valleys.

Student life & support

The International Office (Koblenz and Höhr-Grenzhausen campuses) and the International Programs office (Remagen campus) provide dedicated support for international students including a Buddy Programme to assist with arrival and integration, German language courses and workshops, social events, career guidance for post-study employment, and scholarship advisory services. Student housing is available through the Studierendenwerk Koblenz, which operates several residential halls in the city. The Studierendenwerk also operates canteens (Mensa) on each campus and provides counselling, BAföG, and emergency financial support. A certificate programme in intercultural competence is available for students wishing to formally document cross-cultural skills.
