Hochschule Landshut – University of Applied Sciences (HAW Landshut) is a public Fachhochschule in Lower Bavaria, founded in 1978. It enrolls approximately 5,080 students across six practice-oriented faculties: Business School, Electrical and Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Health/Communication/Human-Technology Interaction, Mechanical and Civil Engineering, and Social Work. Tuition & fees
Study at HAW Landshut is tuition-free for all students (domestic and international). The only mandatory payment is the Studierendenwerksbeitrag (student services contribution) of €125.62 per semester, which includes a local bus pass for Landshut city transit. As of the available information, HAW Landshut has not introduced separate non-EU tuition fees under the 2023 Bavarian higher education law (only TU München has done so among Bavarian public universities). Verify directly with the university for the current academic year.
Admission requirements
International applicants must have their foreign qualifications assessed via uni-assist (preliminary examination, VDP document, fee ~€75) before applying through the PRIMUSS portal. Applicants from India, China, and Vietnam must additionally obtain an APS certificate prior to application. Bachelor's programmes require German B2; master's programmes require German C1 (exception: English-taught programmes at Dingolfing require B2 English). Application window for the winter semester runs mid-April to mid-July; for the summer semester, mid-November to mid-January. Qualification recognition is verified against the KMK anabin database.

Languages of instruction
German-taught programmes require B2 (bachelor's) or C1 (master's) German proficiency. Two English-taught programmes at the Dingolfing campus require B2 English. Recognised certificates include TestDaF, Goethe-Zertifikat, DSH, IELTS, and TOEFL.
