About Internationale Hochschule SDI München
Internationale Hochschule SDI München is a private, state-recognised university in Munich, Bavaria, established as part of the SDI München educational group - itself founded in 1951 by nine translators and interpreters. Admissions & fees
What it costs
SDI München is a private university and charges tuition fees for all programmes. Bachelor programmes (7 semesters): approx. €505-€550/month tuition (when paid annually), plus a €97 semester contribution. Master programmes (3 semesters): approx. €640-€950/month depending on the programme (MBA: €950/month; M.A. programmes: €640/month; Interpreting M.A.: €690/month). A one-time enrollment fee applies: €475 for EU applicants, €950 for non-EU applicants (early-bird rate €375 for winter semester enrolment by 15 June). A final oral exam fee of €200-€250 applies per programme. As a private institution, Bavaria's WS2025/26 non-EU public-university tuition surcharge (€2,000/semester) does not apply here; SDI München's own fee schedule governs.
Admission requirements
Non-EU international applicants (including those from India, China, and Vietnam) must apply through the uni-assist portal (my.uni-assist.de). Required documents include certified school-leaving and/or bachelor's degree transcripts, official translations into German or English, a CV, a motivation letter (1-2 pages), proof of language proficiency, and a blocked account (Sperrkonto) confirmation. First-semester tuition payment must be demonstrable prior to visa application. The APS certificate is mentioned as applicable where required (i.e., for Indian, Chinese, and Vietnamese applicants per German consulate rules). Application deadlines
Non-EU applicants: applications via uni-assist accepted up to 15 October of each year (winter semester), though early submission is strongly recommended. Exchange/Erasmus incoming students: nomination by home university by 15 May (winter/fall semester) or 15 October (summer semester); student application deadline 31 May (winter) or 15 November (summer).
How international applicants apply
Dual model (officially documented): non-EU applicants who obtained their HZB or first academic degree outside Germany MUST apply via uni-assist (my.uni-assist.de); uni-assist pre-checks documents and forwards them to the SDI. Languages of instruction
Primary language of instruction is German. Several programmes incorporate English, Spanish, and Chinese depending on the study field (e.g. Modern Chinese Studies BA, MBA in International Business Management). German proficiency at B1 minimum (B2 recommended) is required for exchange/incoming students. Non-EU applicants must demonstrate German or English proficiency as required by their chosen programme.
