About Medizinische Hochschule Hannover (MHH)

Medizinische Hochschule Hannover (MHH) is a specialist medical university in Hannover, Lower Saxony, founded on 17 May 1965. It is one of the largest medical schools in Germany, combining university hospital, research, and teaching on a single integrated campus in the Roderbruch district. MHH holds the status of a state university (Körperschaft des öffentlichen Rechts) under Lower Saxony law.

MHH offers state-examination programmes in Medicine and Dentistry, bachelor's and master's programmes in Biochemistry, Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Biomedical Data Science, Public Health, Midwifery Science, and Clinical Psychology, as well as the English-taught Master of Science in Infectious Diseases and One Health (IDOH). Multiple structured PhD programmes are coordinated through the Hannover Biomedical Research School (HBRS). The institution is known for clinical excellence, including one of Germany's largest bone-marrow transplantation facilities and a long-standing emergency helicopter service (Christoph 4).

International students who need preparatory education can apply to the Niedersächsisches Studienkolleg (separate institution, +49 511 762 17690). Applicants from outside the EU apply via uni-assist. Instruction at MHH is predominantly in German; the IDOH master's programme is the primary English-taught offering.
