Admission requirements

Bachelor: Requires a university-entrance qualification recognised in Bavaria (e.g. Abitur, IB Diploma, or equivalent international school-leaving certificate). English proficiency required: IELTS 6.5 (Academic), TOEFL iBT 85, Duolingo 115, Cambridge Grade B, or PTE 56; waived if schooling was completed in English. No specific APS certificate requirement is stated on the MBS website (MBS is a private institution with its own admissions process; APS is a German-embassy requirement for the student visa, not an MBS gate). Master: Requires a completed bachelor's degree of 180 ECTS or more; non-business graduates may enter via the Pre-Master programme. English proficiency same thresholds as bachelor. Two intakes per year: February and September. MBA: Requires a bachelor's degree in any subject plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant post-degree work experience. IELTS 7.0 or TOEFL iBT 100 required unless degree was taught in English. Note for Indian/Chinese/Vietnamese applicants: APS certificate is required by the German Embassy as part of the student visa application, not by MBS directly. Applicants from these countries should factor in APS processing time (approximately 4 weeks for India) when planning their application timeline.

Bachelor: Rolling monthly rounds; Early Bird deadlines are February 15 (September/fall intake) and October 15 (February/spring intake) for a €1,000 discount. German language skills are not required for the English track but are strongly recommended for daily life in Munich.

Living in Bayern

Munich (München) is the capital of Bavaria and Germany's third-largest city, with approximately 1.6 million inhabitants. It is one of Europe's leading economic hubs, home to major corporations including BMW, Siemens, MAN, and Allianz, making it a strong location for business-focused internships and graduate employment. The city consistently ranks among the highest quality-of-life cities in Germany. Public transport (U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram) is extensive. Munich is also known for cultural institutions, green spaces, and proximity to the Alps. The cost of living — particularly rent — is among the highest in Germany; students should budget approximately €1,200–€1,600 per month including accommodation.

Student life & support

MBS offers on-campus student accommodation, which is noted as a distinguishing feature for international students new to Munich. The school's small size (roughly 1,000 students) results in close-knit cohorts. An international student body spanning 80+ nationalities is cited on the official website. The mandatory semester abroad (included in all degree programmes) is coordinated through partner university agreements. German language courses are available for students on English-track programmes. Career services and mentoring through the MBS alumni network are highlighted on the website. The school's location in Munich's Westend district provides easy access to the city centre via public transport.
