Admission requirements
Bachelor: Requires a university-entrance qualification recognised in Bavaria (e.g. Abitur, IB Diploma, or equivalent international school-leaving certificate). English proficiency required: IELTS 6.5 (Academic), TOEFL iBT 85, Duolingo 115, Cambridge Grade B, or PTE 56; waived if schooling was completed in English. No specific APS certificate requirement is stated on the MBS website (MBS is a private institution with its own admissions process; APS is a German-embassy requirement for the student visa, not an MBS gate). Master: Requires a completed bachelor's degree of 180 ECTS or more; non-business graduates may enter via the Pre-Master programme. English proficiency same thresholds as bachelor. Two intakes per year: February and September. MBA: Requires a bachelor's degree in any subject plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant post-degree work experience. English proficiency: IELTS 6.5, TOEFL iBT 85, Duolingo 115, PTE 56, or Cambridge Grade B. DBA: Requires a completed master's degree in business or a related field plus at least 5 years of professional experience (3 years in management). IELTS 7.0 or TOEFL iBT 100 required unless degree was taught in English. Note for Indian/Chinese/Vietnamese applicants: APS certificate is required by the German Embassy as part of the student visa application, not by MBS directly. Applicants from these countries should factor in APS processing time (approximately 4 weeks for India) when planning their application timeline.
Application deadlines
Bachelor: Rolling monthly rounds; Early Bird deadlines are February 15 (September/fall intake) and October 15 (February/spring intake) for a €1,000 discount. Master (non-EU / visa required): April 30 for September intake; October 31 for February intake. EU applicants (no visa): July 15 for September; December 10 for February. MBA (non-EU): May 31 for September intake; November 15 for March intake. EU/EFTA: July 15 and January 31 respectively. Applicants from India, China, and Vietnam are advised to apply approximately one month earlier than stated non-EU deadlines to allow for APS and visa processing time.
How international applicants apply
Direct application via MBS's own online application portal ('Apply now'); no uni-assist or VPD process is documented anywhere on the official website (checked English site navigation, application and FAQ paths).
Languages of instruction
All degree programmes are offered in English. The Bachelor International Business also offers a bilingual track (70% German, 30% English). Master, MBA, and DBA programmes are fully English-taught. German language skills are not required for the English track but are strongly recommended for daily life in Munich.
Entry requirements, intake dates and language levels differ for every degree.

Living in München
Munich (München) is the capital of Bavaria and Germany's third-largest city, with approximately 1.6 million inhabitants. It is one of Europe's leading economic hubs, home to major corporations including BMW, Siemens, MAN, and Allianz, making it a strong location for business-focused internships and graduate employment. The city consistently ranks among the highest quality-of-life cities in Germany. Public transport (U-Bahn, S-Bahn, tram) is extensive. Munich is also known for cultural institutions, green spaces, and proximity to the Alps. The mandatory semester abroad (included in all degree programmes) is coordinated through partner university agreements. German language courses are available for students on English-track programmes. Career services and mentoring through the MBS alumni network are highlighted on the website. The school's location in Munich's Westend district provides easy access to the city centre via public transport.
