Tuition & fees
THWS is a public university of applied sciences in Bavaria. Most programmes carry no tuition fees beyond the statutory semester contribution. Some advanced or online master's programmes are subject to programme-specific study fees. The semester contribution covers student services (Studentenwerk) including canteen access and public transport discounts; the exact amount should be confirmed at the time of enrolment via the THWS re-enrolment pages.

International applicants whose qualifications were obtained abroad are generally required to submit a Preliminary Review Documentation (VPD) issued by uni-assist e.V. as a mandatory part of the application. Applications are submitted via the THWS CampusPortal (campusportal.thws.de). Language entrance requirements vary by programme: German-taught programmes require proof of German language proficiency (typically B2/C1 level or equivalent); English-taught programmes require proof of English proficiency. Applicants from India, China, and Vietnam must additionally obtain an APS certificate from the relevant German embassy before applying. Architecture and Communication Design require a portfolio submission and qualification test. Specific language level requirements by programme are listed on the THWS website under Language entrance requirements by programme.
