Technische Universität Carolo-Wilhelmina zu Braunschweig

International applicants apply through the university's online portal at connect.tu-braunschweig.de. Admission requirements vary by programme level and the applicant's country of prior qualification. For bachelor's programmes, a recognised school-leaving certificate (equivalent to the German Abitur) is required; applicants whose qualification is not directly recognised may need to attend a Studienkolleg. For master's programmes, a recognised bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required. Indian, Chinese, and Vietnamese applicants must hold a valid APS certificate (Akademische Prüfstelle) before applying - this is a consulate-issued academic credential verification and is mandatory for the student visa in addition to admission. International applicants apply directly via TU Braunschweig's own Online-Bewerbung and upload one PDF of all documents; the university evaluates foreign certificates itself and charges its own 75 EUR evaluation fee (Bewertungsgebuehr) payable with the application, instead of routing through uni-assist. No uni-assist or VPD process is mentioned on the international application pages, and TU Braunschweig is not on the uni-assist member list (for Braunschweig only the Hochschule fuer Bildende Kuenste is listed).

The majority of degree programmes are taught in German (103 of 109 programmes). Eleven programmes are taught fully in English, primarily at master's level in STEM and engineering fields. German language courses are offered on-campus through the International House, including a 'Studying without Language Barriers' initiative and a tandem language exchange programme.
