Living in Ulm

Ulm is a mid-sized city of around 130,000 inhabitants in Baden-Württemberg, situated on the Danube at the border with Bavaria. It is home to the world's tallest church spire (Ulmer Münster) and a well-established technology and automotive industry base. The city offers a compact, affordable student environment with good rail connections to Stuttgart, Munich, and beyond.

Student life & support

The International Office (uni-ulm.de/en/io/) supports incoming degree-seeking international students with housing assistance, visa and residence permit information, the FIT4U integration workshop programme, and the ASSIST excursions and events series. Exchange and degree-seeking students can contact [email protected] for advising appointments. Housing assistance is provided for student dormitory rooms. The Studierendenwerk manages student canteens and accommodation. General student advisory services are available at [email protected].
