German Language

German is the teaching language for most programmes; C1/C2 is described as essential. Accepted proof: DSH-2 (sufficient for all degree programs), TestDaF level 4 in each of the four parts, Goethe-Zertifikat C2, Oesterreichisches Sprachdiplom C2 (OeSD C2), or the German part of the Feststellungspruefung. Applicants admitted without proof may sit the DSH at FAU immediately before enrolment if they hold B2 (Goethe/telc/onSET B2, TestDaF 12 points with nothing below level 3, UNIcert II/III, or DSH-1 qualify as B2 evidence). Medicine, dentistry and pharmacy require the DSH-2-level proof together with the application.
