About Berufsakademie für Bankwirtschaft
The Berufsakademie für Bankwirtschaft is a state-recognised private institution in Lower Saxony (Niedersachsen), offering exclusively a dual-track Banking and Finance degree programme leading to a Bachelor of Arts (B.A., 180 ECTS, 6 semesters). Founded in 1995 and operating under the Niedersächsisches Berufsakademiegesetz (Nds. BAKadG), it has been managed since 2005 by GenoAkademie GmbH & Co. KG in partnership with Genossenschaftsverband Weser-Ems e.V.
The study model alternates between academic blocks (8-12 weeks each) at the academy and practical phases at a partner bank throughout the three-year programme, totalling 60 weeks of classroom instruction across six semesters. Cohorts are small - a maximum of 40 students - enabling close student-instructor interaction and personalised support from dedicated advisors at both the academy and the training bank.
The institution is highly specialised: its sole programme focuses on qualifying students for specialist and management-track roles in German credit institutions (primarily cooperative/Volksbanken sector banks). Specialisation electives are available in the final two semesters.

Admissions & fees
What it costs
No tuition fees are charged directly by the academy. Students receive a training allowance from their partner bank during the practical phases, consistent with the dual-study model. No semester contribution amounts are published on the official site.
Admission requirements
Applicants must (1) hold a general university entrance qualification (Abitur or equivalent) and (2) have a signed training contract with a participating partner bank before enrolment. Living in Hannover
The academy operates from two locations in Lower Saxony: Hannover, the state capital and a major business and trade-fair hub (home to Deutsche Messe/CeBIT legacy; strong cooperative banking sector presence), and Rastede, a small town near Oldenburg in the Weser-Ems region, the heartland of the German cooperative banking (Volksbanken/Raiffeisenbanken) network.
Student life & support
