About Berufsakademie Hamburg gGmbH
Berufsakademie Hamburg gGmbH is a dual-study institution (Berufsakademie) in Hamburg, founded in autumn 2005 by the Handwerkskammer Hamburg and other organisations of Hamburg's craft and trades sector. It offers innovative dual bachelor programmes that combine theoretical academic study with hands-on vocational training, specifically designed for the skilled trades (Handwerk) and SME sector.
The academy operates from the Elbcampus in Hamburg-Harburg, described as one of Germany's most modern educational centres for the trades and Mittelstand. Its two programmes - Business Administration for SMEs (Betriebswirtschaft KMU) and Management of Renewable Building Energy Technology (Management Erneuerbarer Gebäudeenergietechnik) - integrate classroom instruction with in-company training at partner craft businesses.
Note: As of 2021/22 the institution stopped admitting new cohorts to both programmes. Prospective students are directed to the newly established Berufliche Hochschule Hamburg (BHH), which offers a comparable dual-study pathway.
