Admissions & fees

What it costs

In the dual-study model, the partner company bears the tuition costs and pays the student a monthly practical-phase allowance (approximately €1,550/month is cited). There is no separate tuition fee charged to the student directly. This applies regardless of nationality; however, students must first secure a company contract.

Admission requirements

All applicants must hold a university entrance qualification (Abitur, Fachabitur, or equivalent). Foreign qualifications must be equivalent to a German Hochschulzugangsberechtigung; applicants are advised to verify recognition via anabin.kmk.org before applying. International applicants must submit official certified translations of all certificates. German language proficiency is mandatory: accepted certificates are DSH, TestDaF (minimum TDN 4 in all sections), GDS, KDS, ZOP, or Deutsches Sprachdiplom Level 2. The ZMP certificate is not accepted. Uniquely for a Berufsakademie, admission also requires an applicant to secure a 'study and practical training contract' with one of the academy's partner companies before enrolment can be confirmed. APS certificate (Akademische Prüfstelle) is not mentioned in the institution's own materials; Indian, Chinese, and Vietnamese applicants should confirm the requirement directly with the academy and the relevant German embassy.

Application deadlines

The academy offers a Winter Semester intake (October start). Available places for Winter Semester 2026 and 2027 are listed on the website, indicating rolling or early-application admissions. No fixed application deadline dates are published; applicants should contact the academy directly.

How international applicants apply

Dual model via employer - no uni-assist, VPD or hochschulstart. Admission requires a signed study/trainee contract (Anstellungsvertrag) with one of the BA's partner companies (or a company proposed by the applicant); candidates apply directly to partner companies, via the BA Studienplatz portal (www.ba-rm.de), or at BA recruiting events. Partner companies typically pay tuition and a monthly salary during theory phases. Four dual bachelor programmes (Applied Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Business Administration and International Management, Industrial Engineering - Digital Management and Engineering) are taught in German over three years alternating 2-3 month theory/practice blocks.

Languages of instruction

German is the primary language of instruction. Admission requires proof of German proficiency (DSH, TestDaF TDN 4, GDS, KDS, ZOP, or Deutsches Sprachdiplom Level 2). One programme - Business Administration and International Management - has a strong international orientation.

Entry requirements, intake dates and language levels differ for every degree.
