Admissions & fees

What it costs

Hochschule Fresenius is a private institution - tuition fees apply to all students. English-taught programmes cost approximately €750-€1,250 per month (€9,000-€15,000 per year) depending on programme and campus. A one-time registration fee of €595 applies. An annual semester contribution of approximately €500 covers the student union and a public-transport semester ticket (not available at the Munich campus). Note: as a private university, the Baden-Württemberg non-EU surcharge of €1,500/semester that applies to public universities does not apply here; fees are set by the institution directly.

Admission requirements

International applicants must hold a university-entrance qualification recognised for bachelor-level study in their home country, or pass the Fresenius entrance examination (120-minute written + 30-minute oral, free of charge). TestAS, SAT, ACT, or Gaokao scores at satisfactory levels exempt applicants from the entrance exam. Language requirement for English-taught programmes: B2 (TOEFL iBT ≥70 or IELTS ≥6.0); for German-taught programmes: B2 German for non-native speakers. Master's programmes require a relevant bachelor's degree. APS certificate: the university states applicants from India do not need to wait for the APS certificate before applying - the International Office will coordinate with APS India once a visa-invitation letter is issued. Non-EU students must demonstrate proof of financial resources (approx. €11,904/year) and provide a security deposit of €3,000 (credited against final semester fees).

Application deadlines

Hochschule Fresenius operates rolling admissions with no fixed application deadlines - applications are accepted year-round. Non-EU students are advised to apply well in advance of their intended start date to allow time for visa processing (several months). The university offers winter semester (October start) and summer semester (April start) intakes for most programmes.

How international applicants apply

Direct application through the Hochschule Fresenius online application ('Bewerben' / Bewerbungsprozess on hs-fresenius.de); prospective international students are handled via the English-language site hs-fresenius.com. No uni-assist procedure is documented in the admission information consulted. Note: the Heidelberg campus is its own state-recognized Hochschule within the Hochschule Fresenius group (carrier: Hochschule Fresenius für Internationales Management GmbH).

Languages of instruction

German and English. English-taught programmes are available for international students; German-taught programmes require German B2 proficiency.

Entry requirements, intake dates and language levels differ for every degree.
