Admissions & fees

What it costs

Nominal monthly tuition is €490, with a one-time enrolment fee of €240 and a one-time exam fee of €490. A semester student-services contribution of €70 applies. Importantly, partner member facilities of the AdG cover tuition fees for students starting from Winter Semester 2023/24 onward. Students also receive a training allowance (Ausbildungsvergütung) from their clinical practice facility throughout the programme, making the study largely self-financing for those placed with member institutions.

Admission requirements

Both programmes are dual (practice-integrating) and require applicants to hold a binding training contract with a partner clinical facility before enrolment. Academic entry requirement: completion of at least 12 years of general education (Abitur or equivalent) or a completed vocational qualification. Additional requirements include a medical fitness certificate, an enhanced criminal background check (erweitertes Führungszeugnis), and a successful admission interview at HGE. International applicants with foreign credentials must provide proof of German language proficiency at level B2/C1 (e.g. Goethe-Zertifikat C1 or TestDaF). APS certificate is required for applicants from Vietnam; check the German Embassy in Hanoi. Programmes start each winter semester only.

Application deadlines

No fixed application deadlines are published. Applicants apply by e-mail to [email protected] with the required documents plus a placement agreement with a practice partner (the Hochschule helps arrange one); all programmes start in the winter semester, and teaching operations began in winter semester 2023.

How international applicants apply

Direct application - no uni-assist. Admission is by the HGE application-for-admission form, for which an English-language international version exists (HGE_AntragZulassungInt_250227_ENG.pdf): certified copies of the higher education entrance qualification incl. notarised translation, proof of German (TestDaF, DSH, telc Deutsch C1 Hochschule et al.), plus a binding practice-partner training contract per §7 PflBG (nursing) / §15 HebG (midwifery). No uni-assist procedure is mentioned anywhere in the admission documents.

Languages of instruction

German (primary language of instruction). German B2/C1 required for international applicants. Website available in German, English, and Vietnamese.

Entry requirements, intake dates and language levels differ for every degree.
