Admission requirements
International applicants must hold a university entrance qualification recognised in Germany (check anabin status of their institution). For bachelor's programmes, Indian applicants with Class XII ≥70% may be eligible for direct admission or via Studienkolleg depending on subject area and anabin status of their school; the APS certificate is mandatory for applicants from India, China, and Vietnam before applying. German-taught programmes require proof of German language proficiency (typically B2/C1 level: TestDaF, DSH, or Goethe certificate). English-taught master's programmes typically require an IELTS or TOEFL score; applicants should check individual programme pages for exact thresholds. Applications are submitted via the university's online portal (hisinone.reutlingen-university.de), with a limit of 3 simultaneous applications. Admission to Bachelor programmes requires Abitur, subject-related entrance qualification, Fachhochschulreife, a recognised vocational qualification (e.g. Meister — studying without Abitur is possible, incl. 2 years vocational training + 3 years work experience with eligibility test), foreign certificates, or equivalent. Master programmes require a completed undergraduate degree of at least 3 years; programmes may add subject-specific criteria. International applicants with foreign certificates need a Zeugnisanerkennung (validation of qualifications) from Studienkolleg Konstanz, submitted by the end of the application period. Exchange students apply via MoveON after nomination by their home university.
