Special cases: Chemistry B.Sc. selection interviews require one of the C1-level certificates to be invited; B.A. Wissenschaft - Medien - Kommunikation requires DSH-3 or TestDaF 5555 plus English B2 already at application; Master WMK requires TestDaF 4x5 or DSH-3. Exempt from German proof: holders of Luxembourg secondary certificates, certificates from the German-speaking community of Belgium, German-language schools in Bozen/South Tyrol, and graduates of bilingual secondary schools closing with a bilingual German exam. APS certificate required for applicants from China and Vietnam (group APS not accepted).

- Voraussetzungen für den Zugang zum Masterstudiengang Materialwissenschaft und Werkstofftechnik sind auf der Basis der aktuellen Zugangssatzung
- Ein Bachelorabschluss oder mindestens gleichwertiger Abschluss in dem Studiengang Materialwissenschaft und Werkstofftechnik oder einem Studiengang mit im Wesentlichen gleichem Inhalt an einer Universität, Fachhochschule oder Berufsakademie bzw. Dualen Hochschule oder an einer ausländischen Hochschule. Das Studium muss im Rahmen einer mindestens dreijährigen Regelstudienzeit und mit einer Mindestanzahl von 180 ECTS-Punkten absolviert worden sein.
- Der Umfang und die Inhalte dieser Bereiche sollte denen des Bachelorstudiengangs Materialwissenschaft und Werkstofftechnik am KIT entsprechen.
- Eine Zulassung unter Auflagen (Nachholen von Fächern während des Masterstudiums) ist nicht vorgesehen.

- Personen, die ihren Hochschulabschluss in einem Land absolviert haben, das nicht dem europäischen Hochschulraum (EHEA) angehört und nicht Unterzeichner der Lissabon-Konvention ist, müssen zusätzlich einen Test erfolgreich absolviert haben, entweder den Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) im Bereich Mechanical Engineering oder Metallurgical Engineering oder den Graduate Examination Test (GRE). - Wenn du die Anforderungen an die Mindestleistungen nicht erfüllst, kannst du dich durch eine schriftliche Aufnahmeprüfung qualifizieren. Diese ist bestanden, wenn du mindestens 50 Punkte erreichst. Sie findet im September für das Wintersemester und im März für das Sommersemester statt. Nach Prüfung deiner Bewerbung wirst du gegebenenfalls von der Zulassungskommission dazu eingeladen.
