Living in Düsseldorf

Düsseldorf is the state capital of North Rhine-Westphalia and a major financial, fashion, and media hub in western Germany. The Kaiserswerth district where the campus sits is a historic, quiet riverside neighbourhood along the Rhine, about 12 km north of the city centre and well connected by tram (line U79) and bus. Düsseldorf offers an international atmosphere, a large Japanese and Korean expat community, strong public transport, and proximity to Cologne (30 min by train) and Düsseldorf International Airport.

Student life & support

The university offers a Skills Lab for hands-on clinical and pedagogical training, a library, and learning platforms (Moodle, student portal). Counselling services cover academic writing, career guidance, financial advice, and inclusive support for students with disabilities. A student jobs portal (Stellen für Studierende) is available. Wellness initiatives are promoted under the 'Gesund und fit studieren' programme. International mobility is supported through Erasmus+ (study semesters and internships) and PROMOS-funded short-term exchanges to partners across Europe, North America, and beyond.
