Admissions & fees

What it costs

Brandenburg is a tuition-free federal state for consecutive bachelor's and master's programmes at public universities; TH Wildau charges no tuition fees for standard degree programmes regardless of nationality. Students pay a semester contribution (Semesterbeitrag) of €376.80 per semester (Winter Semester 2026/27 figure), which includes the Studentenwerk fee (€80.00), student council fee (€19.00), re-enrolment fee (€51.00), and the Germany Semester Ticket for local and regional public transport (€226.80). Two fee-based master's programmes exist - confirm current fees with the admissions office.

Admission requirements

International applicants apply via uni-assist for most programmes; the uni-assist application window for Winter Semester 2026/27 is 1 May - 15 June 2026. A recognised university-entrance qualification (Hochschulzugangsberechtigung) equivalent to the German Abitur is required. German-taught programmes require proof of German language proficiency (typically at least DSH-1 or TestDaF TDN 3 - confirm with the International Office for programme-specific thresholds). English-taught programmes require proof of English proficiency. Applicants from India, China (incl. Hong Kong/Macau), and Vietnam whose prior qualification was issued in one of those countries must submit an APS certificate before the visa application. The university also operates the Wildau Foundation Year for international students who need additional preparation before entering a bachelor's programme.

Application deadlines

Winter Semester (starting October): general tuition-free programmes 1 June - 31 August; Business Administration and European Business Management bachelor's 1 June - 15 July; uni-assist route 1 May - 15 June. Summer Semester deadlines are not published on the main application page - contact the International Office directly.

How international applicants apply

Applicants with a foreign school/university certificate must apply online via uni-assist e.V. (application fully online; do NOT additionally use the TH Wildau online portal - after uni-assist forwards the file, TH Wildau emails portal credentials). Applicants with a German HZB, a passed Feststellungspruefung (Studienkolleg) or a KMK/state recognition certificate apply directly via the TH Wildau online portal. Chinese, Indian and Vietnamese applicants need an APS certificate before applying via uni-assist.

Languages of instruction

The majority of programmes are taught in German. At least one English-language master's programme (European Business Management) is offered. The Language Centre provides German as a Foreign Language (DaF) courses and preparatory language courses for international students, as well as instruction in English, Spanish, and Italian.

Entry requirements, intake dates and language levels differ for every degree.
