About Technische Hochschule Wildau

Technische Hochschule Wildau (TH Wildau) is a University of Applied Sciences (Fachhochschule) located in Wildau, Brandenburg, approximately 25 km south-east of Berlin. Founded in 1991 as Technische Fachhochschule Wildau on the site of a historic locomotive manufacturing facility, it was renamed Technische Hochschule Wildau in 2009 under Brandenburg's Higher Education Act. As of Winter Semester 2025/2026 it enrols approximately 3,483 students and employs 83 professors.

The university is organised into two faculties: the Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences (Ingenieur- und Naturwissenschaften) and the Faculty of Business, Computer Science, and Law (Wirtschaft, Informatik, Recht). It offers 23 bachelor's and 14 master's programmes, including dual-study and part-time variants, with a strong applied-research focus sustained by roughly €12.8 million in third-party funding and more than 130 active research projects (2025). TH Wildau holds system accreditation (since 2015) and the "Family-Friendly University" audit certificate (since 2009).

Around 25% of students are international, drawn from over 70 countries, and the university maintains partnerships with more than 100 institutions worldwide. The International Office and Language Centre support incoming students through orientation weeks, a buddy programme, preparatory German courses, and DAAD-STIBET scholarship access for degree-seeking international students.
