Living in Frankfurt am Main

Frankfurt am Main is Germany's financial capital and a major international hub, home to the European Central Bank and Frankfurt Airport (one of Europe's busiest). The city has a large, cosmopolitan population and a well-developed public transport network (RMV); the semester Deutschlandticket included in the student contribution covers nationwide travel on local public transport. Frankfurt offers a lively student scene, extensive cultural institutions, and strong graduate employment prospects in finance, IT, logistics, and consulting sectors.

Student life & support

The International Office ([email protected]) provides dedicated advising for incoming students covering visa/residence permit guidance, housing, insurance, and funding. A Housing Office ([email protected]) supports accommodation searches; Wednesday and Thursday drop-in hours (12:00-16:30) are available. General information sessions for international students are held every Wednesday 13:00-15:00 in Building 1, Room 02. The on-campus Language Center offers German and other language courses. Additional campus amenities include a Learning Center, CampusSport facilities, a library, and student culture programming. The Studierendenwerk Frankfurt administers student dining and further social services.
