Admissions & fees
What it costs
No tuition fees for standard bachelor's and consecutive master's programmes. Students pay a semester contribution of approximately €120 per semester (comprising ~€110 to Studierendenwerk and €10 to the student body/AStA). No additional non-EU surcharge is applied under current Mecklenburg-Vorpommern state policy.
Admission requirements
International applicants must apply through uni-assist (www.uni-assist.de) with scanned educational certificates, transcripts, language certificate, passport copy, CV, and sworn translations into German or English. The university recommends submitting the application at least 8 weeks before the deadline. Qualifications are assessed against the anabin database; applicants whose school-leaving certificates are not fully recognised may need to complete a Studienkolleg. Indian, Chinese, and Vietnamese applicants may be required to present an APS certificate (country-specific proof of academic qualification recognised by Germany). German-taught programmes require at least B2 German (accepted certificates: DSH-1/2/3, TestDaF, Goethe B2/C1/C2, telc C1 Hochschule, ÖSD B2+, DSD-II). English-taught programmes require B2 English (IELTS 5.5-6.5, TOEFL 72-94, Cambridge B2 First).
Application deadlines
Winter semester (October start): 30 June for international applicants. Summer semester (March start): 31 December. Exception: English-taught Geomatics Master's deadline is 31 May. Applications via uni-assist; allow several weeks for processing.
How international applicants apply
uni-assist full application - applicants with foreign certificates must submit exclusively via the uni-assist online portal (My assist); the university accepts only online applications through uni-assist and decides on admission after uni-assist forwards the checked documents. Deadlines: 30 June (winter), 31 December (summer). German Abitur/FHR from a German school abroad or Feststellungsprüfung holders apply directly.
Languages of instruction
Primarily German-taught. A small number of English-taught programmes are available, including the Master's in Geomatics. The university Language Centre offers German and other language courses during the semester.

Neubrandenburg is a city of approximately 63,000 residents in northeastern Germany, situated in the Mecklenburg lake district close to the Polish border.
