Living in Berlin

Berlin is Germany's capital and largest city, home to approximately 3.7 million residents and a globally recognised hub for technology, design, culture, and start-ups. Students benefit from an extensive public transport network, a large international community, affordable living costs relative to other European capitals, and rich cultural infrastructure including museums, galleries, and music venues. The GIU campus is in the Reinickendorf district in the north of the city, with direct U6 access to central Berlin.

Student life & support

The Berlin-Tegel campus hosts PC pools, a library, a cafeteria, relaxation and silent work areas, and locker facilities. Shopping, dining, and services are within 500 metres of campus. The university organises cultural activities, workshops, and excursions to support student integration. Berlin's broader cultural scene - museums, theatres, festivals, and a large international student population - provides an active environment outside the classroom.
